O.K. so I’m a day late. I hope that all of you had an enjoyable holiday weekend. We had some great weather and lots of fun!
A little bit of relaxing
What’s better than finally getting to run barefoot in the grass?!
Hmmm… how about getting to burry your cousin in the sand!
And then getting to do this afterwards!
You may have noticed the matching shorts and skirts in the first photo. I have been eyeing this madras fabric at Joann’s and it was 40% off last week so I had to buy some.
I used two tutorials from Dana at MADE.
Both tutorials were really simple and easy to follow. I would recommend both for the beginning sewer.
Hope you had a great weekend!
They are cute! You did a great job. Following you from We Did It Wednesday. Hope you can visit me sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteAdorable!
ReplyDeleteToo funny...Today I posted about my skirts from Dana's pattern too! :) You've inspired me to try the kid shorts for my boys (although I don't really have any boy fabric right now...)
I have that same fabric! I was about to make shorts for my son out of if when he informed me he doesn't like fancy squares. I'm debating whether to make them any way or use the fabric for my daughter. I love the skirts and I hadn't even considered using the fabric for my girl until I saw yours.
ReplyDeletei absolutely love this fabric! i am pleasantly surprised that it looks so handsome for shorts and so adorable as a skirt!!
ReplyDeleteHa - I love these. I have had my eye on the madras plaid for about a year now. I actually found a yard and a half on clearance at Walmart the other day for $3 a yard. I intend to make a pillowcase dress for my daughter and the Made shorts for my son. I am still in test mode on the shorts as I need to alter the pattern for my 4.5 year old who is slightly larger. Plus, I JUST started sewing about 2 weeks ago. I LOVE madras plaid and happy to see someone else does too! Lori
